Editorial policy
This page sets out how BitcoinValues reports the news.
What we cover
We cover crypto markets, decentralised finance, Bitcoin and the policy that shapes them. We choose stories by whether they change something measurable: a protocol’s deposits or revenue, a market’s direction, or the rules participants work under.
Sources
Our stories are based on primary sources wherever they exist: official announcements, regulatory filings, court documents, on-chain data and statements from the people involved. When we rely on another publication’s reporting, we say so. Figures in our articles come from the same sources as our data pages, and the “Data in this story” panel under an article shows the current figures for every protocol and coin it names.
How stories are produced
Our newsroom uses automated tools to monitor sources and to draft stories from the source material it has gathered. Every draft is checked against our editorial rules before publication: that its facts come from the sources, that quotations are accurate, and that it gives no investment advice.
Independence
Protocols, token issuers and exchanges cannot pay for coverage or for a place in our rankings. Rankings are produced by fixed rules from third-party data, described on our methodology page. If a page ever carries commercial links, it will say so clearly on that page.
Corrections
When we get something wrong we correct it in the article and, where the error changed the meaning of the story, we say what was corrected and when. We do not silently rewrite published facts.
No investment advice
Nothing we publish is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any asset. Crypto assets are volatile and can lose most or all of their value.
